The Job of President is Hard, its Even Harder if you’re incompetent.

I never heard anyone say the job of President was an easy job.
It’s a really tough job, and it’s even harder when you’re an incompetent schmuck who has absolutely no experience at anything other than community organizing.
Barack Obama is finding that one out the hard way.

I remember an incident back when George Bush was President.  The war in Iraq began with operation “shock and awe” which was a huge success.  It was a massive around the clock bombing and shelling campaign which lasted for several days, and it knocked out all of Iraq’s radar and air defenses in preparation for the ground invasion.

The first ship to arrive back home from that successful mission was the USS Abraham Lincoln.  There was a big televised “welcome home” speech by the president on the deck of the ship.  He congratulated the crew members for a job well done on the mission they were sent to do.

The Democrats and the left wing media jumped all over that speech like files on a fresh turd.  For the next several years, they ridiculed him, saying that he had prematurely declared that the war was over.   They repeated those lies over and over until even a lot of Republicans believed them.

Bush didn’t say that.  In fact, in his speech aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, Bush sain quit the oppiset when he declared: “Our mission continues.”   Contrary to the now popular beliefe, he never “famously declared that America’s mission in Iraq had been accomplished.”

What he DID say was that following the fall of Baghdad, “now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country...  We have difficult work to do in Iraq.  We're bringing order to parts of that country that remain dangerous.”  Bush's goal in Iraq was never purely military – his mission was to bring freedom and democracy to a vital part of the Middle East.

Here are some more DIRECT quotes from the speech:

“The transition from dictatorship to democracy will take time, but it is worth every effort. Our coalition will stay until our work is done and then we will leave and we will leave behind a free Iraq.”

“Our mission continues. Al Qaida is wounded, not destroyed.”

“The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11th, 2001 and still goes on.”

“America and our coalition will finish what we have begun.”

So how did the belief that he declared “mission accomplished” become so deeply embedded in the public consciousness? The reason is that the ship’s crew, had strung a large banner bearing the words “mission accomplished” behind the spot where Bush was due to speak.  The banner was seen on TV throughout the president’s speech.  But Bush himself knew nothing about the decision to display the banner, and certainly did not approve it.

Obama on the other hand did declare, not once, but over and over that HE had ended the war in Iraq.

Up until just recently, Democrats and the news media have given Obama a pass on that remark.  But the truth is, if he had stuck with the Bush plan, and not pulled out of Iraq prematurely, we would not have all the problems we now have in the Middle East.

President Obama's former defense secretary, Leon Panetta, says if the White House had listened to his advice on U.S. troop levels in Iraq, the country's security situation may not have unraveled.

"To this day, I believe that a small U.S. troop presence in Iraq could have effectively advised the Iraqi military on how to deal with al-Qaeda's resurgence and the sectarian violence that has engulfed the country," Panetta writes in his upcoming autobiography.

Here is a quote of Leon Panetta.   “The White House was so eager to rid itself of Iraq that it was willing to withdraw rather than lock in arrangements that would preserve our influence and interests,”

Where does the Buck Stop?

Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read, “The buck stops here.”
Many presidents since that time have tried to conduct themselves with that motto as their guideline.
That’s certainly not the case with our current President.   Oh sure, he’s eager to take credit when something goes right in this country, even if he has to stretch the truth to the breaking point to do so.   But when things go wrong, as just about everything has since he was elected, no one has been quicker than our evader in chief to pass the buck.

The latest example of this occurred Sunday night during his interview with Steve Kroft on “60 Minutes.”   Kroft, who is normally one of the friendliest questioners the president could face, asked how the Muslim extremists who call themselves the Islamic State became so powerful so quickly. “How did they end up where they are in control of so much territory?” Kroft asked the president. “Was that a complete surprise to you?”

The president’s reply made it clear that he wasn’t the one who got it wrong.  Passing the buck, he said: “Well, I think, our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.”

Needless to say, members of the intelligence community are furious at Obama for throwing them under the bus. One former senior Pentagon official has been quoted as saying, “Either the President doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting.”

We now know that he skips the vast majority of his intelligence briefings. According to the Government Accountability Institute, which tracks such things, the President attended only 42.43 percent of his intelligence briefings during his first term.   And since his re-election, his attendance record at intelligence briefings has dropped to 41.26 percent.

Hamas is attacking Israel.  Russia has invaded Ukraine.  The whole Middle East is smoldering.    Ebola is no longer just in Africa, it’s spreading everywhere.  Boko Haram is massacring innocent people.   ISIS is getting bigger and stronger with each passing day.   Iran and North Korea are threatening.  American Cities are crumbling.  Our southern border is dissolving.  The National debt is skyrocketing.  ObamaCare is falling apart.  The IRS is violating the law.  Our enemies are laughing at us.  But Obama's two biggest priorites are GOLF and FUND RAISING.

Even the news media, which have been loyal in their devotion to Obama, are now turning on him.   It would appear that honeymoon is finally over.   Richard Engel, the chief foreign affairs correspondent for NBC, said on the air:  It’s surprising that the president said that U.S. intelligence missed this one…. Everyone knew that Islamic extremists were on the rise in Syria and in Iraq.  It was well-documented.  The extremists were publicizing their activities online; they were bragging about it.  This was no bib secret.  Even The New York Times, one of Obama’s strongest supporters, refused to let Obama get away with this one.

There is nothing new about passing the buck rather than taking responsibility himself.  That’s what he did when it became obvious to everyone that the government’s website for Obamacare was an absolute disaster; or when Muslim extremists murdered four Americans, including our ambassador, in Benghazi, Libya; or when it was confirmed that the IRS was harassing and intimidating conservative organizations; or, countless other occasions.
Harry Truman wouldn’t believe it…

Obama Bans Flights to Israel, But Not from Ebola Affected Countries

At least this administration is consistent.
It will let every one and every thing, including pestilence, cross our border.
I bet, if we are patient, the administration will even place Ebola with a nice family somewhere in Middle America and give it government benefits.

List of Murders in America by Muslims Since Obama Took Office

Obama and many on the left continue to dismiss killings taking place in America at the hands of Muslims as just “isolated events.”
Let’s take a look at just how many incidents have actually occurred since Obama took office in 2009:

Perhaps Obama was telling the truth after all; at least about this

President Obama never misses a round of golf.

But, according to  Breitbart, a new Government Accountability Institute report revealed that President Obama failed to attend nearly 60 percent of his daily intelligence briefings.

In fact, he’s only made it to 42.1 percent of his briefings, known as the Presidential Daily Brief, in the 2,079 days of his presidency through Sept. 29, 2014.   Perhaps this is the "empty chair" to which Clint Eastwood was referring.

So; maybe he’s telling the truth when he says “I heard about it on the news”.
I will be SO happy when we finally get a President who actually cares enough about his country and his responsibilities to at the very least keeps himself informed.   Hell, Jimmy Carter, who until recently was known as the worst President ever, at least did that.
