New car sales are not so good.
New car sales around Europe
are not so good.
Cars are
being parked in huge lots because there are no buyers. To conceal the reality, car companies are
parking them and walking away, leaving them to rust.
The
aerial photographs are simply astounding. These are new-car parks. No one wants them. No one is expected to want them. The car manufacturers pretend that the market
will change. It probably won’t.
Soon,
these cars will be last year’s models.
A Little Bit of Good News.
The U.S.
Supreme Court’s conservative majority is back to being the conservative
majority again.
Two years after the court
upheld President Barack Obama’s health-care law and a year after it bolstered
gay rights, the five Republican-appointed justices are voting together again in
the highest-profile cases.
In recent weeks that
group, led by Chief Justice John Roberts, has joined to loosen campaign-finance
limits, back government-sponsored prayer and let states ban racial preferences.
Now, as the court enters the final month-and-a-half of its term, those justices
may unite in cases involving contraception, abortion protests and separation of
powers.
“When he’s got the votes,
it seems Roberts can move the law exactly as quickly as he wants,” said
Elizabeth Wydra, chief counsel of the Constitutional Accountability Center and a frequent critic of the Roberts court.
Roberts, 59, now in his
ninth year as chief justice, has presided over legal shifts on a host of
issues. The court has jettisoned longstanding legal protections for racial
minorities; allowed unlimited corporate and union spending on political campaigns;
given companies more power to force arbitration of consumer and employee
grievances; and shifted power away from the federal government to the states.
For the most part, those
rulings featured the same five- justice majority on the nine-member court:
Roberts, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

Harry Reid is Planning to Changing the 1st Amendment!
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has
announced that he will put a constitutional
amendment up for a vote in the United States Senate
to change the definition of the First Amendment!
The Supreme Court has
recently ruled on two separate occasions (Citizens United vs. FEC and McCutcheon vs. FEC) that because it costs money to engage
in political speech in the 21st century, individual and independent political
expenditures are protected under the free speech clause of the First Amendment.
This has been true since the
country's founding. No one doubts that the First Amendment protects an
individual's right to stand on a soapbox and cry out against government tyranny
and injustice. But the First Amendment also protects individuals who pay to
have their messages disseminated. It has always cost money to disseminate
printed news, for example, and just because it costs capital to do that doesn't
mean that the speech contained in that text shouldn't be considered protected
speech.
The Left would argue
otherwise. Harry Reid wants to amend the First Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution to clarify that messages that cost money to disseminate are not
considered protected speech. He wants your individual voice to be limited just
to how loudly you can yell!
This
isn't just unconstitutional and un-American... It is treasonous! Senators Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have
announced that this new amendment will be voted on by the end of the year! If
this movement is not stopped now, the very bedrock of our civil liberties could
be changed forever!
Harry Reid's proposed
Constitutional Amendment is just the latest manifestation of the Democrats'
absolute hatred for Conservative political participation.
They claim to be trying to
keep money out of politics. Unfortunately, as the Supreme Court correctly
identified, it costs money to engage in many types of political speech. Whether
it is buying TV or radio airtime, taking out an ad in the paper, or even paying
the cable bill to be able to update your blog, there are very few remaining
ways to participate in the public political discussion without paying out of
pocket in some way.
The Supreme Court has taken
the right step to protect Americans from these Liberal attempts to silence
them. Whether you are a millionaire wanting to produce a political
advertisement or if you're getting together with buddies to pool resources and
rent a highway billboard, the First Amendment protects your right to spend money
to engage in "Free Speech." And that is what the Democrats hate!
This isn't about getting
money out of politics. Whatever the Democrats put up for a vote, you can rest
assured that it will carve out an exemption for the liberal labor unions. No,
this is about eliminating your ability to participate in the political process
and stopping you from amplifying your individual voice.
Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer
have already promised that this proposed amendment will be put to a vote. If it
succeeds, you can kiss your constitutional rights good-bye. Now, more than
ever, we must stand against these Liberal legislators and STOP them from
changing the Constitution to redefine "Free Speech!
