Armed revolt in Tennessee . This event actually took place in Athens, TN in 1946....the first time an armed revolt by WWII veterans ever took place in this country. A very sobering video, to say the least.  If you are one of those people that still cannot understand the reasoning behind our Second Amendment, maybe this video will make it a little clearer. . The 1992 made-for-television movie An American Story (produced by the Hallmark Hall of Fame) was based upon the McMinn County War but set in a Texas town in 1945. It was nominated for two 1993 prime time Emmy Awards and one American Society of Cinematographers award. .
