GLOBAL WARMING UPDATE

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

OVER the past 15 years air temperatures at the Earth’s surface have been flat while greenhouse-gas emissions have continued to soar. The world added roughly 100 billion tonnes of carbon to the atmosphere between 2000 and 2010. That is about a quarter of all the CO₂ put there by humanity since 1750. And yet, as James Hansen, the head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, observes, “the five-year mean global temperature has been flat for a decade.” . . .
The mismatch between rising greenhouse-gas emissions and not-rising temperatures is among the biggest puzzles in climate science just now. . .  The IPCC’s estimates of climate sensitivity are based partly on GCMs [Global Circulation Models]. Because these reflect scientists’ understanding of how the climate works, and that understanding has not changed much, the models have not changed either and do not reflect the recent hiatus in rising temperatures.  (Emphasis added.)

I NEVER KNEW THIS: DID YOU?

Every Friday At The Pentagon

I hope this article gives you a sense of pride for what our men and women are doing for us, every day, as they serve in the armed forces here and abroad.
Mornings at the Pentagon
By JOSEPH L. GALLOWAY
McClatchy Newspapers

Over the last 12 months, 1,042 soldiers, Marines, sailors and Air Force personnel have given their lives in the terrible duty that is war. Thousands more have come home on stretchers, horribly wounded and facing months or years in military hospitals.

This week, I'm turning my space over to a good friend and former roommate, Army Lt. Col. Robert Bateman, who recently completed a yearlong tour of duty and is now back at the Pentagon.

Here's Lt. Col. Bateman's account of a little-known ceremony that fills the halls of the Army corridor of the Pentagon with cheers, applause and many tears every Friday morning. It first appeared on May 17 on the Weblog of media critic and pundit Eric Altermanat the Media Matters for America Website.

"It is 110 yards from the "E" ring to the "A" ring of the Pentagon. This section of the Pentagon is newly renovated; the floors shine, the hallway is broad, and the lighting is bright. At this instant the entire length of the corridor is packed with officers, a few sergeants and some civilians, all crammed tightly three and four deep against the walls. There are thousands here.

This hallway, more than any other, is the `Army' hallway. The G3 offices line one side, G2 the other, G8 is around the corner. All Army. Moderate conversations flow in a low buzz.  Friends who may not have seen each other for a few weeks, or a few years, spot each other, cross the way and renew.

Everyone shifts to ensure an open path remains down the center. The air conditioning system was not designed for this press of bodies in this area.

The temperature is rising already. Nobody cares. "
10:36 hours: The clapping starts at the E-Ring. That is the outermost of the five rings of the Pentagon and it is closest to the entrance to the building. This clapping is low, sustained, hearty. It is applause with a deep emotion behind it as it moves forward in a wave down the length of the hallway.

A steady rolling wave of sound it is, moving at the pace of the soldier in the wheelchair who marks the forward edge with his presence. He is the first. He is missing the greater part of one leg, and some of his wounds are still suppurating. By his age I expect that he is a private, or perhaps a private first class.

Captains, majors, lieutenant colonels and colonels meet his gaze and nod as they applaud, soldier to soldier. Three years ago when I described one of these events, those lining the hallways were somewhat different. The applause a little wilder, perhaps in private guilt for not having shared in the burden ... Yet.

Now almost everyone lining the hallway is, like the man in the wheelchair, also a combat veteran. This steadies the applause, but I think deepens the sentiment. We have all been there now. The soldier's chair is pushed by, I believe, a full colonel.
"Behind him, and stretching the length from Rings E to A, come more of his peers, each private, corporal, or sergeant assisted as need be by a field grade officer.

"
11:00 hours: Twenty-four minutes of steady applause. My hands hurt, and I laugh to myself at how stupid that sounds in my own head. My hands hurt. Please! Shut up and clap. For twenty-four minutes, soldier after soldier has come down this hallway - 20, 25, 30.. Fifty-three legs come with them, and perhaps only 52 hands or arms, but down this hall came 30 solid hearts.

"They pass down this corridor of officers and applause, and then meet for a private lunch, at which they are the guests of honor, hosted by the generals. Some are wheeled along. Some insist upon getting out of their chairs, to march as best they can with their chin held up, down this hallway, through this most unique audience. Some are catching handshakes and smiling like a politician at a Fourth of July parade. More than a couple of them seem amazed and are smiling shyly.

"There are families with them as well: the 18-year-old war-bride pushing her 19-year-old husband's wheelchair and not quite understanding why her husband is so affected by this, the boy she grew up with, now a man, who had never shed a tear is crying; the older immigrant Latino parents who have, perhaps more than their wounded mid-20s son, an appreciation for the emotion given on their son's behalf. No man in that hallway, walking or clapping, is ashamed by the silent tears on more than a few cheeks. An Airborne Ranger wipes his eyes only to better see. A couple of the officers in this crowd have themselves been a part of this parade in the past.

"These are our men, broken in body they may be, but they are our brothers, and we welcome them home. This parade has gone on, every single Friday, all year long, for more than four years.

Did you know that? I didn't.

Idiots are running the country

Recently a 10-year-old Alexandria, Virginia boy was arrested after police said he brought a toy handgun to school. Police said “the boy was charged as a juvenile with brandishing a weapon”. The boy was also suspended from school and the brilliant school superintendent assured everyone that further action was being considered, including expulsion.

Should one of those educators or policemen have said, “Maybe we are a little hasty here? The boy did not have a weapon. He had a toy, an obvious toy. Why don’t we all breathe deeply and count to ten?” They did not because they are a bunch of idiots with badges (and worse, they have guns!) and educators with accredited degrees who are dumb as a box of rocks. Could they even count to ten?
That boy with a toy plastic gun was arrested and suspended while a Texas teacher received a short suspension for pouring real shavings of a real pencil sharpener down a real boy’s throat. Boy, those educators are serious people, aren’t they? I mean, they know what’s really important. They only suspend a stupid and dangerous teacher and arrest and suspend a kid with a toy! Yep, the loonies are in control.

A seven-year-old Maryland student was suspended for shaping his breakfast Pop-Tart into a “gun” by mistake. He said he was trying to “make a mountain” but it broke. The kid was making a mountain out of a Pot-Tart and the adults were making a mountain out of a molehill. He was playing! That’s what kids do if only stupid adults would come back to the real world, do their own jobs, and leave the kids alone. He didn’t plan on shooting anyone with his broken Pop-Tart!

Recently two kindergarten boys were suspended for “shooting” with their fingers and saying, “pow.” Wow, we have a crime spree on our hands led by kindergarten students! They are probably part of a crime syndicate! Probably out of Chicago. A second grader in Colorado was suspended for pretending to throw a hand grenade at “evil forces” to “save the world.” He “threw” the pretend grenade at a pretend box of pretend evil doers. Serious business! He said, “I was trying to save people and I just can’t believe I got suspended.” I can’t either. The authorities should have been “dispended” and let the kid run the school.

Yes, Idiots are running our schools, police departments, media, and most political offices. Where were these fanatics when I was in elementary school? I would have been thrilled to be suspended for a few days. I “shot” students every day and no one objected, not even those being “shot.” Of course, the teachers and administrators were too busy educating students to make fools of themselves as their modern counterparts do.

If such jerks were in our school system in those days and acted like modern jerks, they would not have lasted long.   COMMON SENSE IS A THING OF THE PAST!
As I have said in many previous posts “you can fix ignorance but you can’t fix stupid”

Why Would you Need an 'Assault' Rifle

Why Would Anyone Need an 'Assault' Rifle

Well, first of all, a semi-automatic is NOT an assault rifle.  It merely resembles the fully automatic military assault rifle which is already illegal for civilians to own.  However, the left calls most all guns “assault weapons”, so that’s the term I’ll use here.

Here's one very good reason to own one.  In 2010, a Texas teen used a rifle similar to the one used in Newtown to defend his younger sister and himself from home invaders.
The left quite often exposes its raging elitism through its odious habit of asking why anyone would need the things that it doesn't like, from guns to big homes to big trucks.

The implication is that if the elitists don't want whatever it is, then no one should be allowed to have it — except, of course, it's fine for the elitists themselves to live in energy-sucking mansions, hire armed bodyguards and drive around in gas-guzzling limousines and SUVs.

When the left asks these questions it also reveals its blinding ignorance. Is there a single Democrat, dense celebrity or condescending journalist who is aware that "assault" rifles don't just define their owners as red necks but also serve as practical protection?

Actually the total amount of what they don't know about firearms and crime is enough to crush them.

Consider that, according to FBI data, in 2007, there were 453 homicides by rifle in the U.S. Yes, that's too many. But compare that number to a few other methods of homicide employed that year.

In 2007, there were 1,817 homicides committed with "knives or cutting instruments"; "blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.)" killed 674; while "personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.)" were the choices in 869 homicides.

The number of rifle homicides has fallen steadily since then to 323 last year, as have the other three weapon classes, though each still remains a more common choice than the rifle.

In fact, when added together, knives, blunt instruments and the human body were responsible for more than nine times as many homicides as rifles in 2011.

Yet no one is asking why anyone would want to own a set of steak knives, place heavy candelabra on their mantle or have a hammer in their garage, or a lug wrench in their car.

The weapon used effectively as protection by the Texas teen was neither a club nor a fist but reportedly an AR-15, a rifle on which the .223-caliber Bushmaster used in the tragic Sandy Hook shootings was modeled.

Though tagged "assault" weapons, both are merely semi-automatics, just as are many hunting rifles, and all but a handful are used legally and peacefully.

Of course, elitists on the left don't hunt — they let someone else do their killing — so how could they know?

None of this is intended to minimize the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary or any other mass shooting.  It's simply an attempt to point out that a screaming obsession over one particular weapon used less frequently to kill than knives is driven by ignorance and arrogance.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

The cities with the strictest anti gun laws have the fewest prosecutions for gun violations, and also have the highest murder rates.
Does anyone besides me think something is terribly wrong with this picture?

My guess would be either they don't want to lock up their constituency, or they don’t want to piss off their constituency or BOTH…

Stupid Liberal Quotes

This illustrates just how Racist Liberals are

1)  -- Jamie Foxx "First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama.  Barack Obama."

2) -- Morgan Freeman "(The Tea Party's) stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term.  What underlines that? ‘Screw the country. We’re going to whatever we can to get this black man outta here.' ...It is a racist thing....(that) just shows the weak, dark, underside of America. We’re supposed to be better than that."

3) -- Janeane Garofalo  Herman Cain is probably well-liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican Party, conservative movement and tea party movement. People like Karl Rove like to keep the racism very covert and so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity so he can say, ‘Look: This is not a racist anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look: We have a black man.’ And look he’s polling well and he won a straw poll.

4) -- Spike Lee  "If I got (Condi Rice) on camera, I would put my Mars Air Jordans so far up her butt that the Mayo Clinic would have to remove them.”

5) -- John Leguizamo  "Latins for Republicans -- it’s like roaches for Raid."

6) -- Madonna  "Y’all better vote for f——g Obama, OK? For better or for worse, we have a black Muslim in the White House. Now, …that’s some amazing s—-t. It means there is hope in this country."

7) --Sean Penn  "You have what I call the ‘Get the N-word out of the White House party,’ the Tea Party…. At the end of the day, there’s a big bubble coming out of their heads saying, you know, ‘Can we just lynch him?’"
He also said "I lost a friend I was blessed to have. My thoughts are with the family of President Chavez and the people of Venezuela."  And of course, he has always been a close friend of Fidel Castro.  http://reason.com/archives/2008/12/11/dumb-man-talking

8) -- Sarah Silverman  "The Tea Party really is just a c*nt hair away from being the Westboro Baptist Church..."

9) -- Mike Tyson on ESPN radio  "Glen Rice is a wonderful man. He’s a wonderful guy. You want (Sarah Palin) to be with somebody like [Dennis] Rodman getting up … in there. Pushing her guts up in the back of her head! …Glen Rice is a nice, mellow, docile man, non-threatening guy. You want someone like Rodman — yeah baby! Let’s get that donkey in here now. [laughter] Just imagine Palin with a big old black stallion ripping. Yeehaw! [I]n life in general you know … everybody got to get that out of their system when they get out of college. If you’re a black man, every white girl, every uppity middle class … everybody got to get their share of love. She could always get boned out by a black person, a vote to bang her. Other than a vote to run office, the only thing she can do … she’s not a bad person because she likes black people at least in her. Sarah Palin … she met the ‘wombshifter.’"

10) -- Kanye West  "George Bush doesn't care about black people."

11) And of course Jane Fonda for obvious reasons.

12)Alex Baldwin   You wanna go back to lying thieves in the White House who make war under false pretenses in order to make $ for their friends?”
He also said “If Obama was white, he’d be up by 17 points.”

13) -- Jim Carry  Gun Owners Have ‘Very Little in Their Body or Soul Worth Protecting’  -  He also recorded a song slamming gun owners.   http://cyberpolyticks.blogspot.com/2013/03/jim-carry-go-back-to-canada.html

14) Alex Baldwin If Obama was white, he’d be up by 17 points,”  This is just one of many remarks he has made implying that anyone who didn’t support Obama was a racist.

15) -- Samuel L Jackson  I voted for Barack because he was black. ’Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them,” the actor told Ebony magazine. “That’s American politics, pure and simple. [Obama’s] message didn’t mean [bleep] to me."

He also said “The Constitution's Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans.”   http://cyberpolyticks.blogspot.com/2013/01/worlds-worst-racist.html

16)  Harry Belafonte said. “The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a third world dictator and just put all these guys in jail.”  Belafonte went on to claim that Republicans are "violating the American desire by working to keep government limited, taxes low and the country solvent.”

9) "Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness." -- Mary Frances Berry, former Chairwoman, US Commission on Civil Rights

10) “Well, because the Arabs who were involved in 9/11 cooperated with the Zionists, actually. It was a cooperation. They gave them the perfect excuse to denounce all Arabs. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn’t know that they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you deserving of their scorn.” -- Barack Obama

WHY I CHOSE TO CARRY A GUN

HERE’S ANOTHER REASON I CHOSE TO CARRY A GUN

U.S. Marines Feeling bullet shortage

At least one branch of the U.S. military is scrimping and saving every bullet it can while the Department of Homeland Security is on a bullet-buying spree.

Members of Congress are demanding the Obama administration explain why it is stockpiling a huge arsenal of ammunition and weapons. “They have no answer for that question. They refuse to answer to answer that,” said Rep. Timothy Huelscamp, R-Kan.

“I think Congress should ask the department about both of those issues, and I would like a full explanation as to why that has been done, and I have every confidence that the oversight committee … should ask those questions,” said Rep. Leonard Lance, R-N.J.

DHS has argued that it is buying in bulk to save money, explaining it uses as many as 15 million rounds a year for training law enforcement agents. But the 1.6 billion rounds of ammo would be enough for more than 100 years of training.

Additionally, the DHS is buying hollow-point bullets, which experts say are rarely used for training exercises. The DHS ordered 240,000 hollow-point rounds last month and has now placed an order for 360,000 more rounds.

It’s not just the Marines who are struggling to get by. Even local law enforcement agencies are having a tough time finding ammo.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she believes the federal government is building an arsenal to prepare for civil unrest if the country goes bankrupt.

And retired U.S. Army Captain Terry M. Hestilow has written a letter to Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas warning that “the recent appropriation of weapons by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that can only be understood as a bold threat of war by that agency, and the Obama administration, against the citizens of the United States of America.”

HERE’S THERE IS THIS…

AND THIS…

CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?

Do you really want to know why the DHS is buying all that ammo, and tanks, and assault vehicles?
Here is the link to a video by retired Lt. General Jerry Boykin that came out TWO YEARS AGO.  Watch it all the way through and you will understand why.

20 Hidden taxes of Obamacare!

Arranged by their respective effective dates, below is the total list of all $500 billion-plus in tax hikes (over the next ten years) in Obamacare, where to find them in the bill, and how much your taxes are scheduled to go up as of today:

Taxes that took effect in 2010:

1. Excise Tax on Charitable Hospitals (Min$/immediate): $50,000 per hospital if they fail to meet new "community health assessment needs," "financial assistance," and "billing and collection" rules set by HHS. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,961-1,971.

2. Codification of the "economic substance doctrine" (Tax hike of $4.5 billion). This provision allows the IRS to disallow completely-legal tax deductions and other legal tax-minimizing plans just because the IRS deems that the action lacks "substance" and is merely intended to reduce taxes owed. Bill: Reconciliation Act; Page: 108-113.

3. "Black liquor" tax hike (Tax hike of $23.6 billion). This is a tax increase on a type of bio-fuel. Bill: Reconciliation Act; Page: 105.

4. Tax on Innovator Drug Companies ($22.2 bil/Jan 2010): $2.3 billion annual tax on the industry imposed relative to share of sales made that year. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,971-1,980.

5. Blue Cross/Blue Shield Tax Hike ($0.4 bil/Jan 2010): The special tax deduction in current law for Blue Cross/Blue Shield companies would only be allowed if 85 percent or more of premium revenues are spent on clinical services. Bill: PPACA; Page: 2,004.

6. Tax on Indoor Tanning Services ($2.7 billion/July 1, 2010): New 10 percent excise tax on Americans using indoor tanning salons. Bill: PPACA; Page: 2,397-2,399.

Taxes that took effect in 2011:

7. Medicine Cabinet Tax ($5 bil/Jan 2011): Americans no longer able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin). Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,957-1,959.

8. HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike ($1.4 bil/Jan 2011): Increases additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,959.

Taxes that took effect in 2012:

9. Employer Reporting of Insurance on W-2 (Min$/Jan 2012): Preamble to taxing health benefits on individual tax returns. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,957.

Taxes that take effect in 2013:

10. Surtax on Investment Income ($123 billion/Jan. 2013): Creation of a new, 3.8 percent surtax on investment income earned in households making at least $250,000 ($200,000 single). This would result in the following top tax rates on investment income: Bill: Reconciliation Act; Page: 87-93.

Capital Gains Dividends Other*
2012 15% 15% 35%
2013+ 23.8% 43.4% 43.4%

*Other unearned income includes (for surtax purposes) gross income from interest, annuities, royalties, net rents, and passive income in partnerships and Subchapter-S corporations. It does not include municipal bond interest or life insurance proceeds, since those do not add to gross income. It does not include active trade or business income, fair market value sales of ownership in pass-through entities, or distributions from retirement plans. The 3.8% surtax does not apply to non-resident aliens.

11. Hike in Medicare Payroll Tax ($86.8 bil/Jan 2013): Current law and changes:

First $200,000
($250,000 Married)
Employer/Employee All Remaining Wages
Employer/Employee
Current Law 1.45%/1.45%
2.9% self-employed 1.45%/1.45%
2.9% self-employed
Obamacare Tax Hike 1.45%/1.45%
2.9% self-employed 1.45%/2.35%
3.8% self-employed

Bill: PPACA, Reconciliation Act; Page: 2000-2003; 87-93

12. Tax on Medical Device Manufacturers ($20 bil/Jan 2013): Medical device manufacturers employ 360,000 people in 6000 plants across the country. This law imposes a new 2.3% excise tax. Exempts items retailing for <$100. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,980-1,986

13. Raise "Haircut" for Medical Itemized Deduction from 7.5% to 10% of AGI ($15.2 bil/Jan 2013): Currently, those facing high medical expenses are allowed a deduction for medical expenses to the extent that those expenses exceed 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). The new provision imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. Waived for 65+ taxpayers in 2013-2016 only. Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,994-1,995

14. Flexible Spending Account Cap - aka "Special Needs Kids Tax" ($13 bil/Jan 2013): Imposes cap on FSAs of $2500 (now unlimited). Indexed to inflation after 2013. There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children. There are thousands of families with special needs children in the United States, and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education. Tuition rates at one leading school that teaches special needs children in Washington, D.C. (National Child Research Center) can easily exceed $14,000 per year. Under tax rules, FSA dollars can be used to pay for this type of special needs education. Bill: PPACA; Page: 2,388-2,389

15. Elimination of tax deduction for employer-provided retirement Rx drug coverage in coordination with Medicare Part D ($4.5 bil/Jan 2013) Bill: PPACA; Page: 1,994

According to the Constitution “all new taxes must originate in the House of Representatives”.  Wouldn’t that make the whole ObamaCare scam unconstitutional?

We cannot afford the largest tax-hike and biggest Federal Government intrusion into private business in the history of America right now - it will be disastrous!

The Democrats in
Washington have shown no interest in repealing this disastrous piece of legislation that will kill economic growth and hurt the middle class.  The Democratic-controlled Senate has failed the people, so with the help of the millions of Tea Party activists across the country, we will take the gavel out of Reid's hand in 2014.  It is our only option to "Defund and Repeal Obamacare."
