How much longer will Democracy, Capitalism, and Freedom survive?


I sometimes wonder if life as we have always known it in America is just a passing phase.  Many forms of government and/or rulers have come and gone over the thousands of years of recorded human history.

The founders of American government with much foresight founded a government which has survived many tests, but not without some close calls.  The first of course being the revolutionary war, then the Civil war, then WW1, and WW2, and although most people don’t realize it, the Cuban Missile was also a very close call.

There is one line from The Gettysburg address which has stuck in my head since childhood.  That line is “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure”. 

Well we are once again engaged in a great civil war.  This time it’s not a shooting war, at least not yet.  That’s not to say there hasn’t been violence, because there certainly has.  However, so far, this civil war has for the most part been a political and vocal war between the Constitutionalist Republicans and the far-left Socialist Democratic party. 
 
Make no mistake, we as a country, are in just as much in danger of losing our freedom and democracy now we were when Lincoln made that Gettysburg address.  You and I must fight this battle, not on the battle field, but at the ballet box.  I beseech you to PLEASE vote straight Republican in the general election, and in the Primary vote for the most conservative republican.  The one who has been the most supportive of President Trump.

Why do I say this?  I will again use Abe Lincoln’s words; “that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”  Just in case you don’t know, Socialism is NOT a government of the people, by the people, for the people…
