TO BE A CRIME
The term, “illegal alien” is a formal term defined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), which was enacted in 1986 and which supposed was to put an end to illegal immigration once and for all.
Unfortunately, this law was never enforced and, as a result, 25 years later America is overwhelmed with an additional 12-25 million illegal aliens. The number may be even be larger than that, perhaps MUCH larger.
Sadly, liberals see illegal aliens as a veritable gold mine of potential voters who could keep electing them to power as long as the goodies continued to be doled out. President Obama has made a number of attempts to push amnesty into law, even arguing that America owes amnesty and a path to citizenship to “illegal aliens who are law-abiding.”
“Illegal aliens” and “law abiding” do not seem compatible. How can you be “law abiding” while breaking the law? This is the reason liberals refuse to call them “illegal aliens”. They prefer the term “undocumented” because at least it SOUNDS legal.
And, the notion that America owes anything to those who have come here illegally is pure, unmitigated bunk!
