SOMEONE PLEASE STOP THIS IDIOT

I read recently that President Obama has pledged our taxpayer money to bailout foreign countries like Greece.

This is just plain stupid.  In the first place, we can’t pay our own bills without borrowing the money to do so.  We can just barely pay the interest on what we already owe, so why in Gods name would we bail out foreign countries with borrowed money?

And in the second place, if we were going to bail out a foreign country, WHY GREECE? Greece is not a vital strategic partner, it’s not an integral economic player on the world stage, there aren’t any hostile anti-American factions waiting to seize power after a financial collapse, there’s not even a large Greco-American population clamoring for intervention?

Anyone who is not in a coma knows that run-away deficits and uncontrolled spending are the two biggest hot button issues for Americans today. It would seem that borrowing money to bail out a country of little consequence to U.S. interests would be political suicide.

It could be argued that it’s in the interest of a socialist U.S. President to bail out a kindred socialist nation in an effort to protect the unionized, welfare state model in Greece that he’s so vigorously emulating here.  The problem with that theory is the average American doesn’t give Greece a second thought much less feel that its political model has any relation to ours.  The damage of more egregious deficit spending would outweigh any political advantage gained in propping up a distant welfare state.

I see only two possible explanations. The first and most likely is that Obama is a complete idiot and doesn’t have a clue what he is doing.  The second, (and I wouldn’t rule this out) is that Obama has visions of some kind of a new world order rising from the ashes of a bankrupt America?
