Chicago Gun-Control Test

Here's the evidence that the liberal media refuses to report about the Chicago Gun-Control Test:
In 1982, the city of Chicago passed a ban on handgun ownership similar to what was done in Washington, D.C., several years prior. The goal was obvious -- remove the guns, stop the bloodshed.

To suggest it failed would be an understatement. The
Capital City saw killings rise by a staggering 156 percent, while murders in the Windy City climbed 41 percent. (The national murder rate rose 18 percent during the same time.)

As the Chicago Tribune aptly reported, the bans had no "discernible effect on the availability of guns to people with felonious intent. ... [Where] there is a demand for guns, there will always be a supply."

No doubt unsatisfied with the results of their ban on handguns, city leaders instituted the Clinton/Emanuel assault weapons ban in 1994.
Over the next decade evidence showed the ban had "no measurable effect on crime."

In fact, Investors.com also reports that the number of mass-shooting victims actually rose slightly while the Clinton/Emanuel assault-weapons ban was in place.

But these nuggets of truth "conveniently" escaped Rahm Emanuel while addressing a Chicago Police Department graduation shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Connecticut:
And where is crime falling? In states that have concealed-carry laws in place. Currently 49 states have such legislation. The one state that doesn't? Illinois.

A
University of Texas study determined that people are 13 times less likely to commit a crime with concealed-carry laws in place!

So, what do you think?
Should the rest of the country follow The Illinois lead?
