WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE A CONGRESS?

IS THE IRS SCANDLE OVER?
Just read this on the internet, and thought I would pass it on…Makes me wonder why we even have a congress.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO EVERYONE!

The central figure in the IRS scandal is the head of the Exempt Organizations Division, Lois Lerner. She invoked her Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination to avoid testifying on the matter... and Congress let her get away with it, despite some early talk that she had waived those rights by depositing a self-serving speech at the House before she scurried away. She arrogantly refused to resign her post, and has been enjoying paid administrative leave at taxpayer expense ever since. It has been revealed that she retains her access to IRS computer systems, and has been using it during her "exile."

Before she became embroiled in the IRS campaign of voter suppression against conservative groups, Lerner worked for the FEC, where she was involved in alleged abuses of power against the Republican challenger to Democrat Senator Dick Durbin of
Illinois. Durbin went on to call for IRS investigation of Barack Obama's political opponents... and lo and behold, it happened.

Voices from the Left, notably Rep. Elijah Cummings, have already begun declaring the IRS scandal "solved" and urging America to move on. The media happily complied, all but dropping the story from network coverage. This is a pattern familiar to students of every Obama scandal, from Operation Fast and Furious to Benghazi: we're not supposed to talk about them until the "investigations" are finished, so they sit in the media fridge until the Administration's mouthpieces declare them "old news" about things that happened "a long time ago" and flush them down the memory hole.

The worst abuse-of-power scandal in modern history - obscured by clear-cut, documented lies to both the American people and Congress - has not claimed a single scalp, or resulted in any high-level reprimands. There have been a few placid retirements, but never with any official concession of wrongdoing. Soon the coast will be clear for Lois Lerner to return to one of those big-bucks high-level government seats that can evidently sit vacant for weeks without ill effect, while the winds of scandal blow past.
