ALLY OR NON-ALLY

Asked if he considered the current Egyptian government an ally of the United States, President Obama Wednesday balked.

“You know, I don’t think that we would consider them an ally but we don’t consider them an enemy,” he said in an interview with Telemundo. “They are a new government trying to find its way, they were democratically elected. I think we are going to have to see how they respond to this incident, to see how they respond to maintaining the peace treaty with Israel.”

I’m not a bit surprised that he doesn’t know if Egypt is an ally or not.  Hell, our State Department can't even identify the capital of Israel.

There is an easy way for the rest of us to tell allies from non-allies.  If they vote against us in the UN, abuse political dissenters, women, and religious minorities (especially Jews and Christians) and have a corrupt government and a corrupt legal system, and if Obama falls all over himself apologizing to them, flattering them, and apologizing to them for our culture, constitution and legal system, they are probably not an ally.
If they are democracies, have a reasonably functional government and court system, guaranty equal rights at law and in fact, and generally support us in the UN, and Obama goes out of his way to insult them and undercut them, they are probably an ally.

This President is clueless.
This whole administration is clueless.
