IF NOT NOW, WHEN

THIS IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL
Did you ever think there would come a time when the government would dictate what size soft drink you could buy?  Did you ever think the efficiency of your dishwasher and washing machine would be regulated by the federal government?  Did you ever think that the flushing capacity of your toilet would be dictated by bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.?

Did you ever think our federal government would say they have the right to kill an American citizen without due process?  Did you ever think the members of our federal government would spend so much time, money, and energy trying to destroy the very constitution they took an oath to uphold?  Did you ever think your very basic fundamental rights such as those listed in the “bill of rights” would ever be at risk?

Have you even read the bill of rights since high school civics class?  Do you even know what your guaranteed rights are?  Do you even care?

Here’s a list of the bill of rights, please read them:

The First Amendment protects freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to peaceably assemble, and the right to petition the Government.

The Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms.

The Third Amendment protects us from being forced to quarter troops.

The Fourth Amendment protects us from unreasonable search and seizure.

The Fifth Amendment allows us due process when we are accused of a crime, the freedom from "double jeopardy"-- being tried for the same crime twice, freedom from being compelled to testify against ourselves, and the right of "eminent domain," which means that private property cannot be taken for public use without just compensation.

The Sixth Amendment guarantees the right to trial by jury in criminal cases, as well as other rights of the accused, such as a speedy and public trial and the right to legal counsel.

The Seventh Amendment guarantees the right to trial by jury in civic cases.

The Eighth Amendment protects us from excessive fines and from cruel and unusual punishment.

The Ninth Amendment states that, just because some laws are specifically laid out in the Bill of Rights, that does not mean that the others are taken away.

The Tenth Amendment states that all powers not specifically given to the federal government belong to the states or to the people.

When I read the above list, the ONLY one I see that this administration has not tried to undermine is the third one.

It is a sad day for America when Americans have to defend themselves, and their rights, from their very own government.

Always remember, Silence is consent.  Think about this. If you standby quietly, that means you don’t care about what’s happening.  If you don’t get involved in your government, you deserve the government you will get.

I’m not calling for anyone to take up arms against the government like the left wing radicals did back in the 60s.  I’m merely asking that you get more involved by writing, or calling, or emailing your elected officials and let them know how you stand on the issues.  And do it often.  Began today.  Began right now.

Consider this:  “According to a pair of recent polls, for the first time since the 9/11 terrorist hijackings, Americans are more fearful their government will abuse constitutional liberties than fail to keep citizens safe.”

Even after the Boston bombings, the article goes on to say:  “the polls indicate Americans are hesitant to give up any further freedoms in exchange for increased “security.”

Benjamin Franklin wrote:  “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I’d like to take Franklin’s statement a bit farther and quote Edward Gibbon:
“In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all – security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.” —Edward Gibbon (27 April 1737 – 16 January 1794) was an English historian and Member of Parliament.

Please re-read the Gibbon’s statement above but, instead of the words “Athenians” and “Athens” insert the words “Americans” and “America.”  No further explanation is necessary, is it?

Is it not an accurate description of America today?  Does it not send cold chills up and down your spine?

Drones in the sky o’re the land of the free,
“The Messiah” Obama spying on you and me.
Tapping our phones and e-mail too,
He is afraid of what we can do.

He wants our guns and ammo you see,
Cause his tyranny, is not to be.
We are free people in this land,
But not under the Kings heavy hand.

He is working hard almost everyday,
To try and take our rights away.
GOD given rights he can try and take,
Afraid that will be one tremendous mistake!

Millions have served this great land,
Many have died from an enemies hand.
I cherish this land and freedom too,
