I suppose the big “shootout at the DC Corral” concerning the future of the 2nd amendment is still going on. Unfortunately, the outcome was already predetermined to be whatever King Barry wants it to be. The facts be dammed.

You can see that Firearm-related crime has plummeted since 1993.
And here is another interesting chart from Just Facts web site.
The interesting thing on this graph is the huge blip that occurred during the handgun ban in Washington DC. Perhaps the ban had no effect. Perhaps some other underlying principle was driving the murder rate.
The drastic increase was from 1984 to 1990 and there has been a gradual decrease since 1990. This site is rich in facts.
