Senator John McCain... Is he a hero or villain, or both?

There has been a lot of speculation lately about whether Senator John McCain is a war hero or not.  To quote Hillary, “what difference does it make at this point”?
He does not claim to be a hero, and never has.   But the fact remains that he did go into combat in Viet Nam and he certainly had the connections to “get out of it” if he had wanted to.

I am not and will not judge him about anything he may have or have not have done before he entered politics.   Why don’t we just judge him by what he has done after becoming “Senator McCain”.

For starters, he ran one of the worst political campaigns in history when he ran for president in 2008, and I have questioned his intelligence every since.  Never once during that campaign did I hear him mention Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, or Obama’s radical past.   It came as no big surprise when he lost the election.

He never seems to have anything bad to say about Democrats, but he is always quick to go after fellow Republicans, or more specifically, conservative Republicans.  He called Ted Cruz and Rand Paul  ‘wacko birds’, just for taking a conservative stand.  He did later apologize, but once it’s been said, it can’t be un-said.

And most recently McCain insulted millions of conservative Americans by calling them “crazies” for supporting Donald Trump.  I take offense at being called crazy for being concerned about all the crimes being committed by Illegal aliens.  We are not crazy for wanting to control our border and reduce the number of illegals entering this country.

Why is it that John McCain only insults conservatives, and why isn’t he being held responsible for his insults?

Why is it that the Veterans for a Strong America, an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran’s organization support Trump and oppose McCain?

I have nothing personal against Senator McCain except for the fact that he has shown time and time again he is a “rino” (Republican in name only).
