Alternatives to ObamaCare

I watched Obama’s speech today as he tried in vain to make ObamaCare sound like a huge success.
He berated Republicans for knocking ObamaCare without coming up with an alternative.
The reason no one has been able to come up with an alternative to Obamacare is because they are forgetting the basic fact that government can’t solve the problem because government IS the problem.  The best way to really screw something up is to let the government run it.

The reason that healthcare was so expensive in the first place is because the GOVERNMENT forced the insurance model with its Depression-era meddling, its heavy-handed mandates that have accumulated over decades, and the inevitable cost-shifting that occurs when government subsidies are too ridiculously low to cover the actual costs.

The solution is not another government fix that will only exacerbate the problem.  The solution is LESS government.  So instead of the battle cry being repeal Obamacare and replace it, it should be repeal Obamacare PLUS repeal a heck of a lot more government intrusions.  Get the government OUT of healthcare as much as possible; the more they mandate, the more unintended, but predictable, negative consequences.

As much as I want to feel for the young people who are going to get socked by Obamacare, I can't help but be reminded that they are the group most responsible for keeping Obama in the White House.  There is an incredible disconnect in the minds of these young fools.  Obama's policies have set them up for an abysmal job market, a flat line economy, enormous student debt, rising energy costs, and now, skyrocketing health insurance premiums.

Young voters should have known that a vote for Obama was a vote for their health insurance costs to go through the roof.  Yet, as they entered the voting booths, all they could ostensibly think about was how gosh-darn cool Barack Obama was.  So they voted for him, and they got what they voted for.  It is difficult to feel bad for them, because they did this to themselves.
I find it hard to believe the Republicans would receive negative political fallout if they only undo the law without creating an alternative.  People will be skeptical of DC politicians when they presenting an alternative at this point.
Over half the people did not want Obamacare when it passed.  Now that people are finding out what is in the legislation, a lot more are now disenchanted with it.  Unions hate it, employees are losing money by having hours cut to under 30 per week. Companies are cutting coverage or cutting who is covered.
How much of the Republican base are Republicans going to lose if they don't come up with an alternative plan and just get rid of Obamacare?  And according to a lot of polls, many independents and democrats believes the law has just made things worse.
