If you push too hard for more, you end up with less.

Wage hike might mean fewer fast food joints on bases

HERE IS WHAT IS HAPPENING:
Higher minimum wage = fewer entry level jobs.
Fewer entry level jobs = higher unemployment.
Higher unemployment = more people on welfare.
More people on welfare = higher tax.
Higher tax = labor unions demand higher wages.
Unions get higher wages = prices & the cost of living index goes up.
Higher prices & cost of living = Government raises min. wage again.

Let me tell you how it was many years ago when I was young and government kept out of private companies business and dinosaurs still roamed the earth.

Back in those days, ALL major companies had entry level jobs where you could learn a good paying job skill while working for practical nothing.  The more you applied yourself and the harder you worked, the sooner you were promoted to a better paying position.

Some companies called these “trainees” INTERNS, some called them APPRENTICES, and some probably had much worse names for them.   Some companies even had a few hours of classroom study once or twice a week for the more technical jobs.

Now, thanks to government intervention, those free learning opportunities no longer exist.  If you can’t come up with the money to pay for a good trade school, then you are pretty much screwed.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?  It is all because every time the career politicians come up for reelection they buy votes from the uninformed by raising the minimum wage…

Here’s a blog I posted in January you may also want to read:  http://cyberpolyticks.blogspot.com/2014/01/increasing-minamum-wage.html
